"Over the past month or so I have noticed another large influx of spammers on Tumblr. In the last week it has really gotten out of control though. The new spam algorithm creates a fake yet diverse palette of reblogs (still hits in clusters) as well as usernames (no longer mostly the “name-name” format). The one saving grace that always make them stick out like a sore thumb is the lack of an avatar. I guess it is just too complex to write code that uploads an avatar image."
