herochan: Empire Strikes Back Director Irvin Kershner, Dead at 87 (AFP) Note from Ron: Considering I’m a big Star Wars fan, this really sucks. You see, to people that know things about Star Wars, Kershner made the best film of the bunch by a wide margin. For many years I secretly hoped that George Lucas would say and the final Star Wars film will be directed by Irwin Kershner. Kershner made people feel emotion. Boba Fett was cool and he never spoke a word and we knew Han and Leia were in love without having them picnic in a field conversing like robots.  Something I like about Kershner is that of the last 3 films he directed: 1 was the best Star Wars film, 1 was Sean Connery’s final James Bond film, and 1 was a Robocop movie. Granted it was Robocop 2 but I liked Robocop 2 so fuck off.
