Dear Internet: The value of Pi
First to be clear: No Republicans are trying to make the value of Pi exactly 3.
A HuffPo writer needed something to write about so he lifted a 1998 internet rumor about the same thing.
HuffPo does a very VERY poor job of making it clear when things are a joke and people are flat out fucking ignorant. Those two things mix for a perfect storm of stupid. The fact that HuffPo staff can’t view the post comments and grasp this is beyond me. (Note: Not all readers know that red means comedy, read the tags or navigated to the page (hotlinked or rss)

A LOT of people believe this. It says as more about the people willing to believe these things then it does the recent history of Republican mistakes. Things like this are why I really think people should have to take a test before they can vote. If your vote is uninformed and based in any part on things like this, it isn’t really an honest vote.
Stop and think. If you aren’t smart enough try Google. Technology is far too advanced to make these mistakes and then have people spread them as fact.
