This is the state of one of the biggest gaming blogs in history. It’s almost like they are fighting Destructoid to see which blog can go to shit the fastest. It always makes me sad to see a blog that doesn’t get better because it is too focused on getting bigger. How is it possible that content can get worse, the navigation of the page can get worse, the page load times can get worse and at no point to the people at the top really become aware that this is going on?
The number 1 thing that most blogs could do today to make the site better? Cut back on posts by at least 50%. No fucking doubt. Impose a post per day limit on the blog itself. The gaming blogosphere would be better in a matter of 24 hours. Posts like this wouldn’t have the ability to exist and people would actually think about the quality of what they are posting. I bet that they would also throttle back on those copy+pasta press releases as well.
Note: Don’t you give me that “it isn’t game related but it is interesting” shit either. Time travel is interesting, naked women (or men depending) are interesting, anything ever done by David Attenborough is interesting but that doesn’t mean I want to get it from a blog that is supposed to know shit about gaming. When I go to a gas station it isn’t because they have great food or because I like hearing the clerks fucking life story (or creepy Japanese porn fetish in Kotaku’s case) Do you understand my point here?
