A peek into the strange world where Big Data and low-budget movie studios collide.
Note from Ron: As a person who curates a Netflix blog, I can tell you that beyond doubt, the average film quality has gone downhill rapidly this year. Fewer and fewer new movies are brought in and of those, more and more of them seem to be B-movies from straight to video production comapnies or movies that have already been in and out of the Netflix rotation in the past.
So as a service grows, you tend to expect better quality and programming over time. Netflix is clearly becoming less value for money over time. Yes, I understand they pull in a headline grabber like Arrested Development or The Avengers now and again but, what do you watch after that? The pickins’ are getting pretty thin.
